My bouncy ( & needy!) Labrador has been going to Applause 4 Paws for over a year now, both for day care and boarding and I can't recommend them highly enough! David & Stacey treat their canine guests as part of the family & knowing that our dog has the most wonderful time there, makes it so much easier for us when we go away. A perfect balance of exercise, play, downtime & cuddles, the dogs receive the level of one-on-one care that kennels just can't provide. David is clearly skilled at managing dogs in a gentle but firm way that keeps them happy and active altogether. I think he must be a dog whisperer - Avie is less anxious since being in David's care and possibly barks a bit less now - will have to ask the neighbours... It is a highlight of the day when photos come through of your dog having a ball with other dogs, running and exploring in the lovely countryside next to David's farm. Avie is a bouncy, vocal and energetic 3 year old golden retriever and David ensures that he returns in the afternoon tired and happy and washed after encounters with his favourite things - mud and water. David looks after Avie on a regular basis and is reliable and flexible. He collects him from my house which is also very helpful. Being introduced to David & Stacey at Applause4Paws was like finding manna from heaven! When we moved temporarily into a tiny rented property I was unable to leave my very fluffy Keeshond princess for more than a couple of hours for fear of her causing damage or disturbing neighbours, so I sent her to Applause4Paws two days a week in the hope I could go to work without worrying about her. It took a while, but she has now settled and even runs off the lead, which I don't have the confidence to do. Previously when going away, I have always had to employ someone to move into my house to care for Poppy rather than putting her in kennels, she would be so unsettled away from her home comforts that she would come home with sores on her nose from being caged and would lose loads of weight as she would not eat. I researched dog care for my cocker spaniel puppy for a number of weeks before finding Applause 4 Paws. I only work irregularly so was looking for somewhere where I could take Darcey and leave her without spending the whole time worrying about her. On her first visit I left feeling sick with apprehension - and then came an email photo showing a very happy dog - I could relax!. On her second visit she didn't even look back and greeted David like a long lost friend. I was very nervous when trying to find a dog sitter for my dog given her size, and how she could cope playing with dogs much bigger than her. I was very impressed when I first met David and even more when I saw how his family took to coco like she was their own. We have never looked back and I couldn't recommend Applause4paws more. I needed to leave my miniture labradoodle Noodles for a 3 week family holiday. I was happy to leave her in the care of David from Applause 4 Paws, who has already cared for Noodles on various individual days. I have found David to be very caring with Noodles while also maintaining a some discipline. While we were away, David sent regular photos and updates of Noodles progress. She made friends with all the other dogs and in particular a cockapoo called Amy. Applause for paws is a fantastic holiday camp for your dog! We have a young Hungarian vizsla- Senna, who is full of energy and he gets the run of his life when he is with David. Senna may stay the day or longer with applause for paws as we have a busy lifestyle which sometimes takes us abroad. We book Senna into the farm and are always greeted by other happy dogs welcoming Senna, and he Senna runs off with his tail wagging, ears flapping in the wind and legs everywhere!!!! Filled with pure excitement!!!!! Whilst Senna is on holiday we receive photos and a report on him by email, which is reassuring and gratefully received as I'm sure you'll agree leaving your beloved dog behind at first is very daunting. We have used applause for paws on numerous occasions and have always been more than happy with David's service. I was looking for a dog boarding service for our Cavapoo, Hector, while we were on holiday. I was recommended Applause 4 Paws by an existing customer who uses day care. From the first telephone contact I felt reassured that this would be the right service. David suggested a days trial to make sure that everyone including Hector was happy. He came exhusted but very happy!

My elderly Weimerana needed major surgery which would necessitate protracted after care. Unfortunately we had just brought home a gorgeous Vizsla puppy Miso, who was driving the older dog mad and making her rehab very difficult. Separating the dogs didn't work, resulting in enormous amounts of damage. The whole situation was very stressful. I had never met David and the team at Applause for Paws but they took pity on our situation and have been amazing looking after our puppy. She is with David and Co from 8.30 until 4.30 and comes home tired but very happy. She can hardly get out of the car quick enough in the mornings when we arrive at the farm, tail wagging with excitement. Our 9 Month old Cockerpoo Puppy 'Pepper' has been visiting David & Stacey since the age of 3 months and she absolutely loves going to stay at their Home on her weekly occasions. She has also spent numerous doggy holidays whilst we have been away and always returns happy and content. When we travel towards the farm or their House her tail starts wagging and she goes crazy and forgets all about us so that is a recommendation that speaks for itself! She has made loads of friends and the visits have really helped with her socilaising with other dogs. When she comes back home she is always happy and looks forward to a nice rest! Thank you David and Issy for taking wonderful care of Pedro, our GSD. Issy so kindly gave me some details of a food supplier and alternative therapy for his skin which was much appreciated. I loved that David emailed us pictures of Pedro every day! All the dogs stay together day and night which I thought was so much better than putting him in boarding kennel. I don't think Pedro really wanted to come home with us when I went to collect him and I would have happily stayed too with all the lovely, happy, tail wagging dogs. Thank you David and Issy. I met David dog walking in fields near where I live. I was so impressed over how he handled the dogs he was walking I took his card there and then!! Like all dog owners I'm totally obsessed with my handsome retriever Fonzie. We can't say enough about the great job Applause 4 Paws are doing for our dog, Cheyenne. They were recommended to us by a fellow dog walker, who used the services before. Our Cheyenne is a playful 11month old Malamute, who needs a lot of exercises and attention. He loves to play with other dogs and at A4P he can do that all day long! When he is with David and his team I know he in good hands. Our buddy is always well looked after and when we pick him up in the evenings, he is not only very happy but also very, very tired. That means a peaceful evening for us after a long day at work and a good night sleep for our friend... David's services are fairly priced as well, so the dog care does not ruin our budget either. Lola, our adored choccie lab pup, now nine months old, is our first family dog and could be described as our very own 'baptism of fire'! She is full on - great fun, very beautiful (I may be biased) but a bit of a handful at times. I work from home so Lola and I are a bit of a double act most of the working week but Applause 4 Paws look after her every Tuesday which is the one day I work off-site. I know that if I need to ask for extra hours or to swap my day Lola will be accommodated and we were so grateful for her two night stay which allowed us to go away for a family wedding. Applause 4 Paws is more than just a convenient service because there is a lot of trust involved. Dropping Lola off in the morning reminds me of dropping the kids off at nursery when they were little (they are 16 and 18 now) and I can't believe that my heart gets tugged in a similar way when I say goodbye - how soppy is that? Issy has been fantastic with loads of advice and tips for this novice dog owning family. We get little texts during the day and words of advice and encouragement at pick up time. When I collected her this week and Issy said 'she's getting much calmer - you're doing really well' it meant an enormous amount. Lola comes home every Tuesday happy and contented - and completely exhausted! She can't wait to get out of the car when I drop her off and Issy seems really happy to see her. I honestly believe that without Applause 4 Paws our journey thus far would have been very much harder. Not just a dog daycare venue - more of a proper support service with people who are interested in us and our dog and really want to help us get it right. I mean every word quite sincerely - you have all made a big difference to us

The home from home boarding service was exactly what we wanted for our dog, Ike. Our six-month-old puppy Meleu has been to stay with David and Stacey several times over the last few months, for both boarding and day care services. When we brought him to the Thrift the first time for a week’s boarding, I was expecting a little separation drama (as happens at home) but hey presto! He was so happy to meet the other dogs, he even did not let me say a goodbye! Boarding with Applause 4 Paws is also a great opportunity for Meleu to learn much better than I can teach him. In fact he was already much better behaved after just the first stay. Miraculously, he stopped humping me after the second stay too! Stacey and David are very friendly and they keep me in touch up on how our pup is whenever he is with them. All in all, the service is excellent for both Meleu and ourselves. We have never left our 2 year old Labrador, Harley for more than 2 or 3 days before and that was with one of our best friends! We would have liked to have taken Harley with us to the States, but Virgin Atlantic wanted about £2500-a little excessive ! We left our Golden Retriever puppy with David & Stacey for only one weekend recently as we were having management problems. When he returned Monty was happier, healthier and more mature than before. He'd obviously enjoyed his outing and learned how to better associate with other dogs and people. Mum and Dad took time to choose a holiday for me – they needed to feel good about their decision because I am only young and they felt guilty about leaving me behind! I was only 23 weeks when they went, so it had to be right. I know, I heard them discuss it all. Mum visited several places she did not like or think suitable – and then she found The Thrift and everyone at the farm. My holiday was as good as theirs. I met lots of friends, went puppy training, and had lots of walks. David sent Mum and Dad photos of me while they were away and the great pics showed how happily I was enjoying my holiday too. Like all good holidays – it was nice to get back home and sleep in my own bed again but I do miss my friends. Peppa has been going to David and Stacey regularly for four months. I am delighted with the way my dog is looked after. She gets plenty of exercise and loves to play with her friends. She is tired out when she gets home. As far as I have seen David always has the dogs under appropriate control and the environment is organised so the dogs are safe and can interact in a natural way.

After initially visiting David at the Farm I had no qualms in leaving my 10 month old Schnoodle, Elvis, with him for a week whilst we went away. Elvis had a great time making new friends, having long walks and of course plenty of love and attention from David and his family. He was very pleased to see me when I collected him, but I'm sure he would have been more than happy to stay an extra week or so. David and the team at Applause4Paws looked after Snowy throughout December last year on weekdays and were the perfect carers for my young puppy who had never been apart from us for so long before. We left our 6 month old Jack russell/yorkshire terrier puppy, Buddy in the care of David and Stacey and would thoroughly recommend. Buddy had severe congenital epilepsy and unfazed by his strict care routine, David willingly agreed for Buddy to stay with them. Whilst in his care special arrangements were made to accommodate Buddy and his condition. David ensured Buddy received his anti-epileptic tablets three times a day and provided special sleeping arrangements at night for him (on their colleagues bed!) in case he had a seizure. Unfortunately Buddy is no longer with us. When he was just ten months old, Buddy's condition deteriorated and he had a seizure that he was unable to recover from.
We now have a healthy 7 month old German Shepherd called Baloo. He is due to go for an overnight holiday with David and Stacey this week whilst we take the children to Alton Towers! Becky Gray- Barnet

Major is our beautiful & special Chinese Shar Pei. He is loved so much by my husband, my two girls & myself, he is the life & soul of our family. So we only wanted the very best for him & "Applause 4 Paws" is the very best by far & the only one I would highly reconmend. Nobody else even comes close. David & Stacey give excellent, loving care in a wonderful & safe home from home like environment, but more than that they added fun & excitement to Major's stay. A big Thank You to David and family for looking after our 2 terriers, Milo & Leo, for two weeks over Christmas/New Year. This was their first long stay with David as we had previously used kennels but found this was not suiting our dogs. We were looking for a home-from-home environment that would be less stressful for Leo and Milo while we were away. They looked well and happy when we collected them, and had obviously benefitted from all the exercise and time playing with the other dogs.

He is always so happy to see you and if dogs could smile he'd have a big grin from ear to soppy Labrador ear! Our Giant Schnauzer and Bullmastiff appear to have had a great time; Roxy played with other dogs 24/7 and slept for 3 days after coming home, and Rafi received the excercise and companionship he needs to help reduce his anxiety. They were clearly looked after like members of the family, and it was great receiving photos and text messages on a daily basis when we were away, assuring us they were happy and well. Our 3 year old Miniature Schnauzer Mitzy spent 3 days with Issy at The Thrift, Farm whilst we were away over the Christmas break. She was shaking with excitement when she arrived and happily ran off to play with the other dogs without a backwards glance. Issy very kindly sent me a text whilst we were away to let me know that she'd settled in well and had been really good off her lead. When we collected her it was apparent she was very content there and had been well looked after. She was exhausted which reassured me she had been well exercised.

We have a very bouncy and energetic 2 year old GSP and have struggled in the past to find dog sitters who really knew dogs and could handle him. To start with David and Stacey invited us over with Jaegar so they could meet him and introduce him to their dogs and home. We were nervous about introducing Jaegar to strangers but we knew straight away we had nothing to worry about. David and Stacey are very experienced dog owners/sitters/walkers and are excellent at handling Jaegar...who absolutely loves spending time with them. The minute we pull up on the drive his tail is wagging and he can't wait to get out and play with the other dogs! He gets so much time to play with the other dogs and exercise on 2 hour walks that when we pick him up he is exhausted! Jaegar is a very needy, loving dog and we completely feel at ease leaving him with them as we know they give him lots of care and affection as well as exercise and a great environement for him to socialise with other dogs. We have used Applause 4 Paws for single day or long weekends for our Miniature Schnauzer since we first got him as a puppy earlier this year. Finding a happy place for Max and Millie ( My most precious babes) to stay whilst we went on our holiday was very difficult. We visited a few kennels and came away feeling very disappointed and depressed.We nearly cancelled our vacation when by the grace of God I picked up David's card at our local pet shop.I went to visit David and Stacey and immediately felt at ease knowing my puppies will be well looked after. The atmosphere in David's house is amazing. The dogs are not tied and left to wander in the home and the garden.They are taken for long walks and are stimulated, Millie and Max have a great time at David's and have learnt to socialise with other dogs.The training advice I get from David helps a lot. Dear. Stacey, please pass on my thanks to David for doing such a fantastic job of looking after Basil our gorgeous (but tricky) rescue dog. As we have only had Basil for 5 months the idea of leaving him in a kennel left us cold especially as he is a nervous anxious dog who can bark loudly when scared. David showed no qualms in taking on Basil who seems to have had the best time ever, he has been allowed freedom to run off the lead for hours and has slept ever since we collected him this afternoon. David clearly understands dogs and rescue dogs and has reassured me that holidays need no longer be a think of the past as we now know that Basil will always have a fabulous holiday too with David and your family!

We have been using David and Stacey’s puppy day-care service for Toby when both of us have to be at work. We find their approach very professional, and kind-yet-firm with all dogs. As we reach their home to drop Toby off, we typically find Toby vigorously wagging his tail and all eager to join in. We know that Toby loves spending time at David and Stacey’s home and going for walks with other dogs (I was fortunate to join David for a morning walk with Toby and five other dogs in a field nearby). David provides us with tips based on his observations during the puppy day-care, which we find very useful. We must say that thanks to David’s advice and support, we are better able to manage the transition to a family with a puppy. We are very happy with David’s puppy day-care service and have already booked it for our next short holiday.

After having been recommended by a friend to Applause 4 Paws, we have felt very comfortable dropping Achilles off for a day or overnight stays, knowing that he will be looked after as part of the family. Achilles always enjoys his walks and important interaction with other dogs since he is very keen to jump into the car with his mates! It is also valuable the David can offer flexible service to suit our needs! Applause 4 Paws is a great reassurance as kennels are not the best environment for any dog. We would not hesitate to recommend David and Stacey for peace of mind.

My beautiful Husky Angel has never been happier since we met David, Stacey and family at Applause4Paws! I sing with The Fabulous Lounge Swingers! which takes me off all over the country and Europe so I needed to find somewhere for my little “Angel”, somewhere she could feel totally at home and comfortable. Angel is gentle and loving but also dominant; I have witnessed an aggressive streak sometimes when interacting with other dogs. I had become reluctant and nervous in socializing Angel but desperately wanted Angel to have a better quality of life in the company of other dogs. The first time I took Angel to David and Stacey’s home, I was amazed how they handled Angel and how they introduced her to their dogs. On the second day of leaving Angel, as I took off her lead, she happily ran into the kitchen, tail held high, with no aggression and in the company of at least three other dogs, without even looking back at me! (I now know how it must feel taking a child to school for the first time). I was so pleased to see Angel interact with other dogs and to be so happy, content and at home! David, Stacey and family all love Angel and the other dogs they look after, this is very apparent and it certainly has that home from home feel (I wouldn’t mind boarding there myself)! When I pick Angel up, she is happy to see me and you can tell she has had a lovely day with all her canine friends (and human ones too). She comes home happy and exhausted with all the fun she’s had and when she curls up to go to sleep, the amount of dreaming she does too, shows how active and stimulated her minds been all day, it sure beats staying “home alone”! Since going to Applause4Paws, Angel and I are happier than ever, that peace of mind that your best friend is being looked after and loved in the same way you would is truly outstanding! If you’ve never tried doggy daycare (like me) and are thinking of doing it, all I can say is GO FOR IT!! You won’t look back, it’s the BEST thing I’ve ever done for Angel! Hi David our sybrian husky, Storm is handfull puppy - and was difficult to find somewhere to leave her as she has habit of running away. Then we heard about david. Storm can't wait to go to his house where she has freedom to be part of his family, she meets other dogs, and general comes home very tired but happy. She also enjoys her holidays with david.

David and Stacey, and their family have looked after our dog on a number of occasions, over the last three years, and in every circumstance we have found the level of care and support for our Labrador of the very highest quality. David always ensures an environment which ensures all the dogs are well controlled, well supervised and kept in a safe and loving situation. Perfect place for my 3 + year old Cocker - Cooper. All that space and lots of other friends to play with is exactly what he needs. He is a troublesome pooch who can't stay at people's homes without other dogs (gets bored) and this is a fab place for him to be boarded at. We heard about David from a friend and wanted some where for our difficult border collie with issues.
